Lages e toda a região serrana em Santa Catarina têm sua identidade própria, em razão de sua história, de suas raízes, de sua cultura e de seus costumes preservados em total harmonia com o ambiente rural. “A Princesa da Serra” não recebeu essa denominação por acaso. O título se deve ao seu imenso potencial turístico e às inúmeras belezas naturais que possui.
A cidade tem características únicas que revelam seus encantos, em cada estação do ano, em especial no inverno com suas baixas temperaturas, onde frequentemente ocorrem geadas e até neve, cobrindo de branco seus campos e pinheirais. Lages é considerada “Capital Nacional do Turismo Rural” pelo pioneirismo, no país, de oferecer este modo diferenciado de turismo, que busca integrar os visitantes com as tradições locais e proporcionar um maior contato com a natureza. Tanto na cidade quanto no campo, Lages oferece muitas opções ao turista que visitar a região.

Lages and the whole highland area in Santa Catarina have their own identity, due to their history, roots, culture and preserved habits in total harmony with the rural atmosphere. The Princess of the Mountain didn’t receive that denomination by chance. The title is because of the immense tourist potential and the countless natural beauties that it possesses.
The city has unique characteristics that reveal its charms, in every season, especially in the winter with low temperatures, where frequently frosts and even snow happen, covering of fields and pinewoods of white.
Lages is considered National Capital of the Rural Tourism to be the precursor, in the country, in offering this differentiated way of tourism, that integrate the visitors to the local traditions providing a larger contact with nature. In the city or in the field, Lages offers a lot of
options to the tourist that visit the area.
